I decided to go ahead and put a vinyl 20% tint on my rear lights for HIN 2006. The guy wanted to tint EVERYTHING for the show, fog lights, headlamps, rear reverse lamps and corner lights... i think im going to stick with only the four back lamps and the front corner lights.

The HIDs shine yellow threw the balck and it doesnt look right... I have to take the car to the dealer today for a few things.. im going to replace the ball joint and prolly the control arm..

The next thing im contemplating (and the reason behind the post) is this.. when i put the vinyl on I had to take off the "LINCOLN" decal along with the "LS" decal on the back lights.. the guy at the dealer told me he has them ready for me, but I dont know if I should get them or not.. i'm really leaning towards keeping them on but I havent decided.. does anyone have any pics of it with the emblems on?

I would say put them back on, I think the chrome letters would look good on the black tint. Plus the chrome on the license plate surround and on the bumper would set it off. Just my opinon though. Post some pics of the tinted tails, I have been considering it. Car looks good though man.

What do you think about tinted tails on the light parchment colour???

look at my photo pics I have tinted tails with the letters.

edit:that pic you can't see very well I can get you a pic later. Mine are from ken so you might be able to fine them on his sight also.

GT9gcoupe.. i see u did the reverse lights.. i was going to do them but i dont want to get stopped repeatedly

Doesn't tint end up peeling off after a while because of the heat from the bulb? Isn't the proper way to do it is get someone to put a clear coat over it with a touch of black? Just wondering is all because I thought about doing it with tint but was told not to.

ur supposed to use the paint tint and put a clear coat over it.. but i did that on my front markers and had the paint eventually fade...

atleast if I use the tint, I can just peel it off whenever it start coming off and go back to the stock look... worst case scenario.. it's better than having half the lamp one color, and the other half another color..

Have 20% on my windows and the backup light tinted makes it kind of hard to see on a dark or stormy night I would probably go a little lighter on the back up lights if I were to do it again. They were done by jonstintedtails.com (Edited) btw they are medium dark

How long have you had the tinted tails? Have they faded at all? I have been considering doing this mod (not quite as dark as yours though) for a while now but haven't been able to make the commitment.
