Ok I will start off by stating that I know the laws in my state for window tint.

Now I need suggestion on what brand to use ( I am doing it myself ) and if it makes sense or not to get lighter tint on the driver and passenger fronts and a shade darker on the rears?

I feel the % it is at now is great but I didn't have it done, the car was purchased that way so I don't know what % it is and I am positive it is the same shade the entire way around the car.

I have Johnson something or other 20% on everything but the windshield

I love it

My last car I had 5% behind the driver and 50% on the front three windows. Its looked like it wasnt tinted. But with these cars being four doors, its going to look wierd having the doors be tinted differently.

OK, I did a search and found a post with someone flipping out about how dumb it looks the same percent the whole way around and thought it was a bit nutty bit I just figured I would get some more advice.

FWIW, I am going to have mine done next week by a pro. 15% all 4 doors and rear window. I may do 35% on the windshield to the AS-1 line, not sure yet. In my truck I have 35% on the rear window My first attempt at doing it myself and a coworker did his rear and extended cab glass in 20%. That was much better so I put 5% on my rear quarter windows (extended cab). WAY better but legal on a truck not a car (in TN anyway). I want more then the 35% on my LS, as I feel that's a waste of time and money. But on the same token I don't want to look like I'm hidding something and should be pulled over. Besides, I drive fast enough, there is always "just cause" to pull me over, I don't want to add to it...much.

i'm' sure you know this already but ultimately it's what you like and what falls under the state laws for the tint. personally i think a car with the same color tint all around looks real nice. mine has really dark in the rear but it was a cheap deterrence for when i park on the street which is seldom. but i hate that sometimes it doesn't even look like the front has any, it's 35% in the front. you can still in fine without struggling to see inside but at night it is noticeable. if you have some already and only want a light tint i suggest you place a 50% on top of it if the one you have is in great condition as is.

If you want to do the legal limit. Put the legal limit on the windows that roll down, and just do 5 % on the back glass and the corners, since it is not possible to measure those windows. Llumar is good tint as well.

Thanks guys. I have all four side windows, the rear triangle wing windows or what have you and the rear windshield done now. I want to keep it the same shade but damn it I dont know the shade.

I found this which is good to know but I still dont want to dark.
