anyone got any pics, when i get my new lights with the clear corners, i want to tint my tail lights black, not completely blacked out. i want them to look like this.

how do you think i should go about doing it?
 
Ask around and find someone who has experience doing it, do NOT try it yourself. Any custom body shop should have some sort of painter they work with if there isn't already someone who is directly associated with them. As far as the darkness of them, you could get them pitch black and the light will still shine through. Like I said just get someone who knows what their doing and they can make whatever you want. I paid 200 for my taillights, side markers, and clear corner/halo installation. Of course I had a close friend do it so I got a pretty big discount, but I would expect to pay around 250 just for the tail lights.

I can take some pics tomorrow if you want, but its on a black LS so its completely different then your car.
 
thats a car with the complete tint on the rear lamps.. regardless of which tint u go with it's going to shine like that regardless when u break.. decide what kind of look u want during the day when u can see the tint in the rear..

regardless it will look like that when pressed..


ur choices are with painting them with a pray on tint (which comes off if u dont put a clear coat after) or using a tint film that eventually peels off but its good cause u can go back to ur stock look whenever..
 
be careful last i knew tinted tail lights are illegal in rhode island, but i could be wrong, you dont need the cops busting your balls all the time, unless you dont care
 
they r illegal, i just want a minor tint, i dont speed, dont use drugs, im on the fire dept in my town, my car is known to them so i dont think ill be getting my balls busted, and if i do ill just take it off, im sick of looking at those giant red lights in the back, they look like a fu<kin herpes or something
 
i went to a tint shop around where i live asking about tint on taillights and they said, absolutely no way it would work. and if it did it would look like crap or just get ruined by the sun. i want to tint mine with tint film, not spray or paint so that i can go back to stock look.

Check my gallery. They are done by jonstintedtails.com (medium dark). I also did the Film whick is like a thick plastic IT DID NOT GO WELL b/c the pre 03 lights are not flat the dips in the lights are very hard to get the film to stick to and yes I even used a heat gun. I Do not recommend that method at all. Me and my brother used nitshades by VHT on his acura CL we cleaned the lights very well sprayed them cleared them and now they have faded bad they dont even look tinted now which has been only several months. BTW I am very happy with mine no fade no orange peel look to the lights. If you have any questions PM me
 
I also have a set from john and am very happy. I think I have a pic of them in my gallery.
 
I think they are medium. They look darker in person than they do in that pic in my gallery.
