Ticking?... Hmmmm?....

my 97' just started ticking last week... it's kinda a cross between a tick and a click... it doesn't really get louder with acceleration, but it does speed up... it sounds like it's comming from an injector or around that area... got any suggestions?... would some seafoam clear it up?

Oh boy another one. How many miles the car have? Do a search there are lots of threads about this. I even posted a video of what mine sounds like

It's got about 80,000 on it... it didn't start till about a month ago I guess... I did have a belt pretty much evaporate a bit back... I accelerated and it got shredded... replaced it with a gatorback and changed the idler and tensioner pullies... could a piece of thread from the old belt cause it?... I kinda doubt it cause the sound seams like it's commin from the injectors

Well ain't that just fun ... yeah they've always ticked but it's getting louder... and louder... it almost sounds like when your CV joint goes out how it pops and clicks... it's just kinda annoying... can't be all suave with a clicky car

Bad lash adjuster.

Put your head into each wheel and see which side the noise is louder on. That will tell you which cylinder bank.

My guess is drivers side #7 cylinder. (Yes, I am psychic).
