hey guys i have a 04 sports v89 with the nav thx system, now the system sound great by far the best factory system i ever had but sometimes i wish i had more power now i want to upgrade some of the components but i want to know the specs of what the system currently has for example, whant to know specs on the front/rear speakers, rear deck subs and how much total watts the amps and how many amps this system has i think i saw samewhare that it was 4 -- any help will be appreciated

ohh and by the way if you have this system and made some mods to it feel free to tell me what kinda mods you have done

I'm fixing to add 2 10's to my factory THX system that I bought from a fellow LVC member. The only specs that I can remember is the my rear deck speakers were 40 watts each. I do not know the specs of the amp though. Search for THX. At one time there was a link to the THX site that showed the system in our lincolns and gave the speaker specs. I'll try to do some researching and see if I can find some more info. I know there are a few guys on here that have all the answers you need.

thanks i really appriciate this -- 40watts that just wont cut it - even though it sounds really clear but i will need more power than that and still try to keep the clarity.

this is the only info I could get from THX, they won't share anything else cause they say it is all proprietary info for Ford.

The 32 watts isn't quite enough for me either, I'm switching out all the speakers and adding 3 amps, 1200 RMX for the sub, 200 for the highs, and 300 for the mids. I'll be deaf by the time I'm 25.

THX System Features

DSP Occupancy Mode—Optimizes the audio to deliver the
best possible listening experience to each seating position.
Listeners have a choice of three user-selectable modes
including driver only, front seats only, or all seats.
Speed Compensated Volume—Adjusts the volume of the
audio system based on the speed of the vehicle to compensate
for road and wind noise. Listeners can adjust the percentage
that the volume increases with the speed of the vehicle.

Accurate Bass Extension—Producing accurate, loud bass
is one of the most difficult qualities to build into a car audio
system. With a THX system, the bass is accurately produced
down to the lowest frequencies without distortion.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but how do they get 10 speakers, 2 on front, 2 on back and 2 6x9 subs, thats only 6 right? and under amplifiers do they mean there is one amp for the two front speakers, giving them 50 watts each, or what? im not new to speaker system setups, just difficulty in the way they are trying to explain it

they count the door speakers as 2 since they have a woofer and tweeter as 2-way speakers.

He's right. The (2) is for the 2-way but it is really one speaker. And on the amps it's 50 watts for (2) speakers for 100 watts total.

i have 4 sets of speakers which means 8 total plus my sub. i never got to hear the stock sound as the previous owner had put after market in there already :( . i would've replaced anyway but it would've been nice to hear and compare. i have 2 set's of Alpine 6 1/2's X type SPX-177R's (pushing 150 rms, 300 peak)in my front doors and my rears. i took out the back amp rack in the back and replaced it with 4 6x9's, 2 mb quarts 3 ways (60 rms 120 peak) and R type alpines 2 ways(60 rms, 120 peak). and a 15" solobaric for bass. i hear a 04 ls with stock and it sound incredible, i wonder if they sound the same on an 01. i'll never know

with all that said, does anyone know what the speakers are rated at, i.e. could i throw a bigger amp on 4 door ones (4 channel)?
