I have a THX Nav system that came with my LS. Now today i was driving to school and it just shut off, i turned it back on and it was all staticy. When i got to school i was playing around with it and i dicvored i blew my front right speaker, but when i turn on the radio if i start to turn it up it starts to lower itself then if i turn it back down it gets really loud so i just turned it off. Now maybe this is a safety feature to prevent me from using the blown speaker or is my radio just messed up. I have a warranty on the car so would they cover this or no? Help please.

I can't help you with any safety features built into the system. But I would definitely take it in and have it looked at. If it's a factory warranty, you should be covered. If it's a factory extended warranty, you MAY be covered. If it's an aftermarket warranty, I would be amazed if you're covered. Check with whoever has your warranty and see if they cover the audio system. I hope so...because that system can be VERY expensive to repair. If you have to pay out of pocket for the repair, you may not have to go to a dealer. Find a Ford authorized radio repair shop and see if they can do it for you. You can eliminate the middle man. They may require you pull the head unit and any factory amps. I know of a shop in Salt Lake City that is authorized and will do the work...but even that isn't cheap by any means. Good luck to you!
