how much clearance do you need to put covers on, I just need the measurement from the cam cover to the top of the coil.

The connector actually sticks up higher than the top of the coil. 1-7/8" will clear the connector but it will be tight. The problem is the back coil connector is less than 3/8" from the brake booster on the drivers side and the return air box on the passenger side.
