Ok, the SST mod worked out pretty sweet. My question to the LS community is what else would make these cars better. What doesnt make sence and might be able to be changed for cheap/free like the SST was? Any ideas?

Aside from the cup holder/arm rest not much I can think of.

Oh the rear door speakers are much better off on the rear deck!

yeah, but thats already been figure out how to do. I also disagree as I have other speakers in my deck

what did you mean by the arm rest cup holders?

Well its only natural that the sound from the speakers on the deck will sound much better as they sit more towards your level and also wont be muffled by any rear passengers legs. I swapped mine and it significantly sounds so much more clear.

I thought you were just looking for things to improve your car in specific and wasnt sure if you did the arm rest swap yet or not. I didnt kow you were looking for new things to do.

How about the sh*ty clips that hold the windows in place. The ones that bust and force us to pay for a whole new unit?

what is this arm rest swap you speak of. As far as the clips, yeah they suck. Im looking moreso for a mod that we can figure out and people who want to can start doing on thier cars.

The center console man!
Sorry for the lack of word, I guess:shifty: :D

I think the window clips would be a good one we could all do.

How about the wiring for the heated seats. You know how they sit in front of the lumbar bag and when its inflated they pull lose?

That might take some work tho.

Changing out the sh*ty center console for the newer updated look in the first gens to rid the terrible problems of the cup holder not flipping shut all the way and allow larger cups to fit.

I was sure it was also on some early 2001's.

:shifty:

maybe it was an option........I'm suprised how much OEM parts are...even the woodgrain steering wheel for a 2000 is 600 bucks from my Ford/Lincoln dealership :P

Hmm I've been trying to think of things left that annoy me about the function of the car, but that last SST mods seems to have done it for me. I'm totally happy with the insides of the car now and the increased fun with reverse SST. I don't know what else we could do on the cheap that would be some advantage.

Maybe have the traction control default in off mode?

The rear seats. I always hated how you have to get in the trunk to pull them down.

Just about every car I have been in you do that from the inside.

You know, that's actually not a bad idea at all. I hate the ones in the trunk.

Here is a simple one but does wonders: Adding a second light in the trunk. Get a second assembly (metal frame, lens, and wiring) from the junkyard for a couple bucks, tap the wires into the existing light, run them behind the trunk carpet and cut the new light into the carpet on the left side and walla! You can see inside the whole trunk at night. Could be done in as little as 10 min.

When I get my new AdvanceTrac module I'll send you my old one. It has this feature (sometimes).

Has anyone gotten around to the ashtray not closing properly problem with these things?

What the hell causes it to happen?

Do you mean the flap that folds down not closing all the way (instead of looking like | from the front it looks more like / )?

No its different for the 1st gens. I think

You push it in and it pops out and then you just push it back and it stays in place. Well I saw tons of complaints on it here and now I have the problem myself.

It dont sit flush with its surroundings after you push it back in.

that would be cool, but idk how that would work. Might be something to look into.

thats a good one! Gotta be pretty simple too. its just a mechanical device. I might look into this one too.

No under hood light is one I can think of real quick.

both of those are pretty simple fixes. They're good ideas, but nothing that needs to be figured out any.

Can you do this? I would like one please.
