They Wont Leave Me Alone

I was thinking about something regarding this guy and it really pertains to alot of people on here. Accidents happen all the time and you never expect it obviously. If by any unfortunate chance any of you that have illegal tint on your car get into an accident that "could" end up hitting you in the wallet way more than you might expect. You can be givin a citation for the tint which isnt all that big a deal, under $100, but the person that you hit can come after you in civil court and use the fact that you had illegal tint as a reason to sue you for alot of money depending on the severity of the accident and injuries. You'd never think that your window tint could cause such a big problem but its always a possibility. Are the odds extremely small, sure, but its literally something that could ruin you and your families livelyhood. Just something to ponder.

I know a lot of people who have tint on their front windows (which any tint in jersey on front 2 windows is illegal) and complain all the time about being cited for it. I'd love to hear them complain in front of the family of the fallen officer who was killed because some punk gang banger shot him through the window for a routine stop since he couldn't see in. Yeah tint looks good but your asking for trouble since your making that officer feel unsafe since he doesn't know what to expect behind that window. If he'll be shot just for pulling you over to let you know your tag light is out.

Front plates are stupid. PA makes due fine with out them as do many other states.

Seatbelts should be up to the driver. Some states don't require helmets for motorcycles which is just as bad if not worse than not wear a seatbelt.

There is always the factor of a young kid, nice car...police having some sort of animosity towards them or them owning a nice car like at a young age is suspect in some way. Which is illegal since it's profiling.

I know i have said before that my local sheriffs are cracking down on aggressive driving. There was a news story today where a reporter went riding with a deputy in an unmarked mustang. It was crazy to see the stuff going on right in front of his eyes. He stated that EVERYONE around him right then could have been pulled over and given a ticket. But just like mentioned above he was looking for the "WOW" people as he said, those who's driving stood out against all the rest. They are using all unmarked cars to catch people, its called 4 on I-4. In just one day there was 2,750 tickets written, thats INSANE. One of the cars being used is bright red SRT8 dodge charger, very stealthy.

you probably got pulled over b/c the dark tints and the wheels make the car stand out.

aftermarket rims scream, "look at me, i stand out, i'm different" plus i would say a majority of people with aftermarket wheels are from 17-25 which tend to do more illegal things then the older crowd. those wheels grab peoples attention, and some of those people will be cops looking to write a ticket.

I haven't been pulled over since putting my rims on, but I have been nervous about it. For the tint, I usually roll down the windows when I notice a police car and I want the police man to see the white boy with the collared shirt driving. So far no issues.

It seems like you just need to put the license plate on the front of the car (wire it to the lower grill - somebody here has done it before and it doesn't look that bad.)

Also when getting pulled over, pull over some where safe, have your paperwork ready, and be polite, you might just get a warning next time.

couldnt agree more with midas ont he whole politeness thing. I have gotten out of 3 tickets, 2 of which the cop said, "keep your good manners" i think it helps a little

however each caop has awlasy told me, "nice car" :D

Well i'm not trying to be a dick here but it all seems common sense. Like i said, in your state it is PC for a traffic stop if it "appears" that the belt is not on, seeing that your window was open and therefore a clear view inside i'm sure to him it didnt look like it, the leaned back seat probably didnt help.

As far as your comment on 35% and "see thru glass", if your interior is black that makes any tint even stock windows look darker, they come with a factory tint and anything added to that is going to give an appereance far from "see thru". Now...i think you caught yourself in a lie. You said originally that the cop was hassling you about tint and you told him you dont have any tint...YOU DO HAVE TINT. So i guess your saying you lied to him? Anyways as i said before all the issues you brought up you were totally in violation of except for the belt that you said you were wearing.

I think alot of people need to realize that ALOT of times a petty traffic stop over a seatbelt or a missing front tag can lead to something much much more and thats why they do what they do. Lets say he stops you for the missing front plate....runs your license and you have a warrant or suspended license, or you have drugs or a weapon in the car or your intoxicated. The little things lead to bigger things way more often than you'd imagine. Whether you believe it or not the situation you decribed you were definately not being harrased but being checked out by a thorough cop.

One more final thing, i looked back and this was your second post here after you joined:
"I GOT 20% for the back and 35% in front
Cops don't like tints around here I get b/s for it all the time but
the car looks WAY better with all windows done.

So you know your tint is whats going to get you attention, not because you drive a LS. Are you feeling me on that?
