Hello everyone, I am new to the site. You guys are a wealth of knowledge so I have a quick question for you. We have my wife's car in the shop and they are telling me the "thermostat tube and connector" are leaking and need replaced. I can not find any information on this part so I thought I would ask you guys. All the would tell me is that it goes to from the block to the thermostat housing and it is 175 for parts and 325 for labor. Anybody have any input on what part they are talking about? Thanks in advance for your help. Oh yeah, it's on a 2005 Lincoln LS with the 3.9L.

The two parts you are talking about are some of the most common failures on the Gen 2 V8 LS.
$500 is right in line with the usual cost of getting some one to fix this. Of course, if you did it yourself you could save all the labor and some of the parts cost.
Soon after you have this repair done, you will find that you also have to replace your degas bottle and possibly the two larger radiator hoses (due to the plastic sections in them). Over and over again, the experience here is that all of these parts fail at about the same time.

Neither of those look like tubes though? And the shop said only the "tube and connector" not thermo or housing.

Finally, if you search this forum a little bit, you'll see that these are the common parts that fail.
It's not a bad idea at all the replace the throttle body heater hoses, but that's not what they are talking about.
