So I don't forget, this is a 2001 LS V6.

It's been about a month or two since I got it back from Galpin. And tonight on my way to class it pretty much shut down. I'm going over the freeway at about 45 MPH and all of a sudden I had absolutely no power at all. My power steering cut out, my power braking cut out (Or at least I believe so, I was more worried about stopping the car before the big turn), and no matter how much I was on the gas I wasn't going anywhere. I think I remember the RPMs going up....but I was just coasting. I do remember no matter how much I was on the gas I didn't hear any sound from the engine.

Also, 3 lights came on in this order:

It was the battery light, followed by the check engine light (I think), and then the oil light.

Now, I was able to start up the LS again (which took a few seconds) and I went back home and grabbed the E320 and got to class on time and all...but I'm having it towed to the dealership. Any ideas as to what happened?

I'm hoping it's as simple as that. I'm wondering also if I could just drive it to Galpin early in the morning without it cutting out...I'm sure as hell not taking it on the freeway.

Scary feeling right??? That happened to me several years ago. What you described to me sounds like the exact sequence of events of the alternator going out on the LS. Have you checked it?

I got it back and drove it home fine. This is what it says on the invoice:

Recalibrated PCM with latest update and replaced blown fuse to secondary air injection.
