I know that the 25 beeps (5 sets of 5) the first 30 seconds I start my car are because of the clock spring or airbag system. But how do I get them to stop without fixing the problem? Is there a computer reset I can perform?

The problem is I don't have an airbag. My car was in an accident a while back, and the airbags were deployed and removed. the entire steering wheel system was basically disconnected (airbag, horn, cruise control, radio controls) which is fine with me because I never use any of that stuff. My horn was rewired off the wheel. So I now have an "mysterious" red button next to my mirror controls.

any Konami code to get them to stop would be most helpful.

Unfortunately I personally don't know but still had to comment on your Konami code remark. The fact you made that reference makes you freaking awesome in my book. :) Fellow nerds unite!

I'll sell you the steering wheel air bag from a 2002 LS for $25 w/shipping. It was sitting in my parts car for quite some time before I bought the car. It has been inside since. PM me if you are interested. I'll send you pics to your email if you wish

Do you think that will solve the issue? Because I was trying to avoid opening up steering wheel and doing work on it. I was looking for a cheap (free) and easy (do nothing) type of solution, Hehe. Ill keep you in mind if I have to change the airbag, I doubt ill find a better deal.

YES, nerds of the world unite.

I know one guy on here tore into the dash to find that beeper and ripped it out lol. IIRC I think he ruined something eles in the process though.

If you want the beeps to stop, then fix the SRS light. You'll have the SRS light on all the time, but there will be no beeps.

My SRS light was blinking prior to me taking it to the Dealer to get 2 new keys cut for it. When I got the car back I had the "Dreaded Beeps". I replaced the Clockspring and all is well now. No more beeps, the cruise control and the steering wheel buttons work etc.

Do you think my SRS light burned out while at the dealer or did they flash my computer and reset it while cutting the keys causing the light to go out and start the beeping. This car sat for a year before I bought it and fixed the engine. The SRS light blinked from the time I got it running. No beeping until the dealer. The dealer did not know what it was and tried to pass it off to me with a BS excuse.

Anyway, I replaced the clockspring and all is well. My offer for the Airbag is still open.

P.S. I've seen a thread on here about a yellow connector under the drivers seat the has problems with the wires getting rubbed bare from the seat going back and forth. That wire harness is for the side airbag as I recall and could be the cause as well.

The PASSENGER side harness under the seat can cause the airbag alert issue. It is a YELLOW connector under the PASSENGER front seat that becomes loose or dirty and when it fails to make a connection, it will trigger that alarm/alert as well. Mine still has the issue of the light on the dash telling me there's an airbag issue. If I go under that seat and reseat the connector, it goes away for a while.

One of these days I'll fix it permanently. One of these days...

I suspect that the bulb just happened to burn out while at the dealer's. Apparently, when the SRS light was designed in, they didn't expect that anyone would let it stay on for more than a few months.
