In anticipation of the one year anniversary of LVC.com I thought I would do a couple of polls for a certain lincoln vs a certain cadillac. I won't do a whole bunch, but I'll do a few. This second one wil stick with two from my favorite era for both brands, the second half of the 70's.

The Continental vs. The Fleetwood.

I took the time to find a front shot, a side shot, a rear shot and a dash shot of each model (thank you cardomain.com!) When you post in the poll, post for the one you like better overall, but in the text part of the post, break it down. I.e. which rear do you like better, which dash do you like better, what about it do you like better, etc.

I will post my take on this on a later post.

Hope participation is high... after a couple more of these, I will get to the 90s (Mark VIII vs Eldorado...hold off on that one til I post it.)

Have fun!

The true full size Fleetwood seem short lived in the 70's. But the Continental seem the most longest and sucessful the true full size Lincolns in the '70's.

Out of those two pictured the Conti is a nicer looking car. I like that year Fleetwood a lot but that color does it no justice and the hub caps are crap. And those wheels on the Conti sure aren't stock.

As a general rule of thumb I do like the Fleetwood over the Conti especially in later years.

Once again, I have to go with the Lincoln. The Exterior styling is more elegant, especially in the front and back.I like the way they did the windows on the Caddy though. I can go either way on the interiors, but if I had to decide, I'd say Lincoln. I don't like the steering wheel in the Caddy.

The Conti is much nicer, it has a certain elegance to the exterior, The sharp angles on the tailights, and the hidden headlamps are very nice, The Cadillac is just to plain in my opinion. The interior of the Lincoln is much nicer to, The loose pillow seats look alot more comfortable than the cadillacs, I love the two tone Leather on the Lincoln to, I remember seeing one with burgandy leather , and tan piping Lincoln interiors have always been top notch. Very nice car. :dancefool

From the front, side, and dash, this is my favorite caddy and my favorite caddy overall, but I actually like the rear end of both the 60's and 80's Caddy's more. The proportions are almost a little too long in the rear and not long enough in the front. It's stance is really nice and it's interior is really artsy...God, I love this car and everything about it... even the rear end!!

But the continental..... I like better than the caddy in pretty much every way! This is the ultimate car for me and my favorite of all the 16 cars that came up in these polls. The proportions on this car are absolutely perfect! The interior is very clever with a rolling pin spedometer and a solid stretch of simuwood all the way across the dash with a big overhang. The dash on the 98 and on is reminiscent of this dash which makes me like both dashes more. The opera window is a very classy touch and the huge, tall waterfall grille, ribbed turn lights and hidden headlamps, along with the rear end fin lights and center console with Lincoln logo on lid above it is perfection! This car is just the ultimate!!

Nice rides. Makes me wanna buy a pimp suit and smack some ho's...

Yeah, functionally, the Conti interior is way better than the nightmare caddilac, and cosmetically, I prefer the lincolns' too.... but only a little. Cosmetically, that Caddy has one hell of a dash! :) It's very artsy, more artsy in fact than the continental, but the continental is just so elegant and smart. :)
