I just wanted to tell everyone on here THANKS!!... I got my car running awesome now!... it was a bumpy road but I think it's going good... when I got the car about a year ago it needed a lot of work... I paid 2500 for our 97 mark viii... it's a black on black LSC... figured it was a good buy... retired old guy... but he lived in a condo with a underground parking garage... so there was the inevitable dings and scratches... it had 74,000 miles on it...

well since then... changed coils, plugs... valve cover gaskets... belt... pulleys.... repaired a couple of the dents... cleaned the IAC... thermostat... hoses... and a few other little things

Now holy crap it's a totally different car... I loved it the first time I drove it... but now it's a beast!!... it pulls so much harder... it idles so smooth... it's great!!... now all I gotta do is a little stereo upgrading...

my girl wanted to just fix a little and get rid of it cause of all the problems... but I was like any used car will have to be fixed up a little... all and all it wasn't all that bad... thanks to you guys!! probably saved me a lot of money and gained a lot of knowledge!... thank you so much!!

Make sure you start puttin some coins away for the maintanance items coming up, like brake pads, rotors, front end parts, Trans filters, Mercon V, J Mod, and Tranny cooler.

If you want to keep it trouble free you'll spend your money on those items before a Stereo.

Oh yeah I already did the pads and rotors... they were a lot easier than I expected... but yeah the tranny is gonna be the next thing to have to get fixed I'm sure... it shifts nice now but I think I might do a tranny drain... not flush I heard it's kinda bad to flush it if it's never been done before...

most mechanics that i've talked to including some on here...hahah, agree that the flush is bad, mmmkay.

drain it, change the filter, drain the TC, replace the pan gasket, yay! and use mercon v synthetic. well worth the effort and expense.
