Hey all!
I know I'm not on here much anymore. Left NY...Thank God! Back working for the US Army, been on the road alot. I'm in the burbs of Chitown for a few days visiting and took the car out to RT 66 Dragway in Joliet, IL last night. First chance I've had to get to a track since Running it at Mooresville Dragway's 1/8th mile in NC in Feb and Mar. First time the car had been driven in 2 months. Had a good night, no real wind, 63 degrees and a very sticky track. Made only one run with a decent cooldown. Temp guage was at 1/4. 14.361 at 97.05 mph. Not too bad considering I'm running on the 19's. Still having intermittent problems with the car but it's running strong. I know there is more in it even on the 19's. If I had a little more track time I could hit a 14.2. Maybe even a 14.0-14.1 on the stock wheels with a sticky tire. This is a tricky car to launch. Not so much due to traction issues, but it is very sensitive as to how it is driven out of the hole. Too agressive and it spins and bogs, kills 2-3 tenths right there. To mild and it also bogs and just doesn't get moving. @1800 rpm against the brake and a smooth transition to full throttle is the ticket. Not as easy as it sounds, especially with the TBW. Means you have to anticipate the tree and compensate for the delay in response. I made four runs. The others were all 14.5's with no cool down. All in All a fun night. When it's working right I really do love this car.

what was in the left lane that ran a 30 sec 1/4, 2.1 rt and 2.8 60 foot LOL!
1/8 mile in 15 LOL

The car next to me was a Bad Ass flat black '66 Mustang. Full Chassis car running 8's. He had some sort of ignition problem while staging. Watched him run a high 8 @ 150mph pedaling it later that night. Lots of serious metal around here. 7 and 8 second street cars are fairly common. There are rumors of a 6 second Camaro that is driven to and from the track. I'd like to see that. Makes my 14 second LS seem pretty lame. 8^)

Try 1000-1200rpm for the launch. Takes some practice and with the right foot work you will drop your 60'. I believe its called flashing the convereter. I hit 2.12x quite a few times on the stock 3.31s, stacks of timeslips under 2.15x. in my 02. TBW may make it a little harder but I think its doable. Nothing like a good old fashion throttle cable.
