well, i drained the radiator recently in my 93' mark VIII and she hasn't been the same since.... i didn't see a fill cap on the radiator so i just put the coolant in the resivoir,, and coolant in the plug on top of the engine coolant line,,, she still heats up sometimes and def. isn't the same as before. she really heats up quick when i get on her a little too...soo...

the coolant i'm pretty sure hasn't never been changed so it was def. due. I just want to get her back to the coool status that she was at before.

any helpful comments, info, input, or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Ya, burp the air out. Open that center upper cap by the alternator and keep filling til all the air it out. Fill, run (do NOT rev), fill again, etc.

Kustomizing kid,i just went thru the same thing as the OP.I actually typed out a long answer and realized it was too long and deleted it all except what i posted.Sorry to be captain obvious and thanks for being cool about it(unlike that other guy).

so fill with coolant through that center cap on the coolant line instead of through the resivoir? run her a little, let out air, and proceed to fill till all air out.....and probably don't fill while she is still running...haha

sorry I wasn't being a dick..it's fairly obvious that you are correct.

your answer should have given the OP a avenue to explore.

there are probably 100 threads on this board describing the exact scenario.

I was agreeing with you rather than being a dick..

BUT it wouldn't be the first time I was accused as such.
HAHA

I ran my mark v111 hot enough for it to cut off as it had a bad water pump and I was in the middle of nowhere. Now it runs good as long as you give it the gas. If you drive it up the road when you stop at a stop light it sounds like deisel when you let it idle.Give it gas and go it sounds fine.Any ideas what it could be as I am leaning toward the oil pump bad. Thanks jimmy

Jimmy diesel sounds never should come from a gasoline engine.

Also, running an all aluminum motor "until it quits" usually means you need another "all aluminum motor".
sorry to say.

"outside raliegh"?
TWW- FTW!!!

Might want to change your cooling system components. The parts are inexpensive at rockauto and it should only take a few hours of your time.

+1 XLR,
When I replaced my water pump, I only filled it through the resevoir (such a n00b) and I overheated, and it started to sound like a diesel. I also got "low oil pressure" and the oil light on the dash to go nuts.

Don't drive the car! Replace the oil, filter, and tranny fluid if you've been driving it a lot, because chances are you overheated that as well.

+1 REV..well DONT REV it.
dont drive it.. like Rev says.

Haha yeah, I used to get offended when people called me an ass hole or a dick, then I realized... They were right!
