temp. blend door fix....pointers?

I am currently driving with my glovebox on the floorboard as I'm assuming many of you have done. Getting the heat goin isn't that hard, but the damn thing goes back to cold air everytime I turn the car off. Does anyone know of a way to avoid this?

Mine does the same thing. I tied a small diameter nylon rope (Window shade type) to the actuator arm and drilled a small hole in the bottom of the glove box. Then I glued a short section of clear plastic tubing in the hole I just drilled to reduce friction. I then ran the rope through the tubing and put a nice looking celling fan pull on the end of the rope. When the glove box is closed the rope hangs out maybe a couple of inches. When I need heat all I have to do is reach over and tug on the rope to pull the actuator arm for more heat. Looks better than riding around with your glove box hanging open. I rather do this than tear my dash apart for a 37.00 part. Ford wanted 1500.00 to fix it!! Good luck. Steve.
