Don't mind me here, just venting, and sharing my recent experience, or lack thereof, with my Lincoln. In September, just a week before my birthday, I was leaving the art store, started it up, and it was shaking like a madman. Over the next few weeks it was throwing an odd assortment of codes. After replacing several spark plugs, a coil, and taking it to a couple places for some result-less diagnoses, I had it towed back to my mom's house in my hometown, a few hours from where I live and attend college. Being that I'm car-less, I'm not able to come back as much, so my dad has been doing most of the work, with a little help from me. He started taking it apart before I was able to get home, and found a gnarly piece of plastic chilling next to the chain, confirming my fear, a tensioner had failed. We finally got it all taken apart, discovering the failed secondary tensioner on the passenger side, the failed primary tensioner on the same side, and later, a cracked chain guide. and so...

It just occurred to me, I forgot to take pictures of the failed parts -______-

Anyway, I'll be ordering the parts in the morning. A kind gentleman on the Jaguar forums has offered to loan me the timing tools, only having to pay for shipping, and hopefully this all goes smoothly.

Enjoy! I think this is just a right of passage for Gen 1 owners. :D

Now is a good time to inspect the power steering pump, consider replacing the hydraulic fan, inspect/replace the water pump and cooling tower, etc etc.
