Well I've had a blown speaker for about a year and a half now and I can't take it any longer. Here is a link to a compairson of the three component kits I'm looking at:

http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/...&compareItems=108607CS&compareItems=1086820CS

Let me know which one you guys think would be best or if you have other suggestions. I am kinda partial to alpine but it looks like the other two might be better.

take a look at these My friend has them in his mark and they sound great
infinity kappa 6.5 components

I have the infinity reference ones in my mark with some polk 5x7's in the front they actually sound really awesome!... I heard round speakers sound better but I just wanted them to fit nice... I have them powered by an alpine 50x4 amp they scream!!... I had to turn the gain down cause they were so loud my girlfriend hated it... but yeah I'm sure all of them sound good if you tune them right... just shop around a bit... I got my infinites on sale from crutchfield for $120! and my polks were half off so they were 60 bucks!... not that bad i thought... but yeah all three of those will sound awesome kinda just depends on your budget... just make sure you have a decent amp and deck running them... that has a lot to do with the "quality" of sound

I have alpine type S speakers 5X7 and love them but I think the you should spend a little more and be more happy with quality going with the infinity reference or kappas round or 5x7
IMO I would never get the Rockford Fosgate speakers there ok but you get what you spend

It seems a lot of people like the Infinity's.

Anyone have any experience with Alpine stuff?

Wouldn't mind having JL but last time I checked it was out of my price range.

as said in post #9 I do I have the alpine type S's 5X7 and I think they are very nice sounds very good for the money I have invested (very little) but the Kappas sound even better but they retail for $400 for the 4 I think and you have to amp them and mod the speaker openings to fit the 6.5 rounds

I have the reference component 5x7 the same one that he has linked... and yeah I heard a lot of people say that the tweeters are a little harsh... but there's a thing on the crossover to tone them down 3 db... I did that and they sound really nice... I also took the time to tune the system with all the crossovers and such from the amp and deck... but yeah like I said I got them a lot cheaper than they had them at crutchfield and I order a lot from them... this was my 8th deck from them besides all the other numerous gadgets, cables and speakers I've gotten too... JL is awesome... I have a JL sub and it hits hard everyone thinks it's a 15 and it's only a 12... they are expensive but worth it... if I was gonna really put money into the cab speakers I'd go Focal or Diamond... they sound more real to me... I'm happy with my infinities though... they get loud no distortion and clean sound... just search around... I got mine on sale but I see them on amazon.com for a good price time to time... just shop around... and just realize a system is only as good at the person installing and setting it up!!!!

I have Infinity Kappas in my car. The higher frequency sounds come out loud and clear.
