Tachometer Alignment

So my tach doesnt work and its driving me crazy. now it looks like the gage had slid down and stuck the needle. which after searching seams to be a common thing and i was considering following the tech article to fix it. however one thing i did not notice was how to align it so that its in the correct spot. i actually could not find this info in any of the threads. also is there any type of glue that is recommended i live in florida and my car is blk on blk. so it does get pretty hot inside when parked out doors.

Take off the gauge face, pull out the little pin and then turn the car on, the needle should float up a tiny bit above the bottom of the cluster if I remember correctly.

this just confused me even more. thanks. so what your saying is theres no marks on the gage face or gage housing to ensure proper alignment ?

I meant take the lense cover off... my bad.

when you say turn the car on you dont mean in a running state right. cuz then it would idle higher then 0 rpm and that would throw me off too. and are you talking about pulling the entire cluster removing the lens then reinstalling the entire cluster

im not sure how i did it but i did it. not only did i fix it but i got it dead on im so stoked.
