now i was wondering, since the sync for the lincoln navigator is a dealer installed option and all it requires is a module since it uses the pre-installed microphone and voice options that is already included with the navigation system i was thinking can we use this adapter with the LS thx navi since it is almost the same as the 2008 lincoln navigator navi. has anyone even try this. we can get this module from team ford for $313 well worth it if we can get sync in our cars.

No you can't. The systems are entirely different. Our LS THX system is equivalent to the THX system from the 03-06 Navigator. In 07 the Navi and all other vehicles (some in 06 like the Zephyr) got the THX II system. And even the THX II system is not completely retro-compatable with Sync. You can't put Sync in an 07 MKX, Navi, MKZ or Town Car even if they have the THX II navigation system.

Trust me when I say that the THX and THX II are completely different systems (since I have cars with both).

But it seems Sync can be added to certain 08 models after a certain production date as long as they have navigation, but since the only 08 that didn't come with Sync already is the Navi that is as far as it goes.

You could just go with one of the new Pioneers they do everything you need them to do just like SYNC. I have the Z120BT in my LS & there's really nothing SYNC does that my LS can't.

Well, as close as you are going to get anyway. Some of the factory Sync systems do some neat things like popping up gas station locations on the nav screen when you get the low fuel warning.

How's the boot up time and reliability for the Z120BT?

I love it & all you have to do for that is say "get gas prices" & they will come up on your screen with locations. It boots up pretty quick IMO I'd say mine is up & going in roughly 15 seconds or so. Pandora & everything works great.

Here's a few videos one is the Z110BT & the only difference is the UI which u can upgrade for free if you know where to go.:D

Good to know. Thanks.

I may concider something like this since navi is like one of the 3 options I am missing...

do the steering wheel controls still work? or is there an adapter?

sorry if that was answered in the videos, but videos are blocked at work so I can't see them

I'll jump in. There is an adapter for the steering wheel controls. It doesn't work too well with the F series, but my understanding is that it is much better with the Zs.

Works perfect with my Z & the LS steering wheel controls. I have my steering wheel set for volume up/down, track up/down, source & Voice Control.
