i was thinking that if we ( LSers ) can find a ballast that will fit in the stock location that is bi- Xenon then we can have super bright HID and at the same time upgrade the high beam to hid and have insane out put when high beams are on, also the wiring would all be internal to the headlamp assembly, just tap into the high beam wires to initiate the bi xenon operation. should be easy the hard part will be finding the ballast that will fit in the stock location, will bi xenon ballasts work with the sock DR2s or is there a special bulb for this ??

Is stock HID not that good? I have stock HID and if i order D2r bulbs for my car will they not be as good as a HId kit installed? I like the idea though if there was something out there like that.

stock hid is good at 4300K. If you desire the blue look then you can use bulbs with different temperature. you dont need a kit, just a different bulb. stoch hid is very good imo. i just want a bright ass light output plus it would be a unique mod that i dont think anyone has done.

input anyone?

I was going to try to "jumper" my HID's, meaning wire them in such a way that would enable the low beams to stay on when I turn on my high beams. I even bought the high beam HID kit. but I'm no electrician, and after several emails between another member and I, and even a wiring diagram and list of materials, I still couldn't figure it out. An automotive electric shop here wants 200 to perform the work.

If memory serves me correctly which its not this morning the PCM or something wont allow you to use bi xenon. It will only light up the low beams. I thought I saw that on a projector thread but I might be wrong. I haven't had much sleep the last week:sleep:

Just found the diagram he sent to me. You could do this and use the high beam HID kit of your choice:

Dude, I'm bored as f**k at work right now.

I'm going to take a pillowcase and fill it full of bars of soap and beat the :q:q:q:q out of you!

im pretty sure that it will work on a gen 2, the bi xenon ballasts are activated by a 12 v source i think. so instead if the ballast having 2 wires positive and ground i think it has four. just need to tap the high beam wires so when activated it will be bright as hell as well as still illuminating the stock high beams which i would upgrade to HID as well

What is the advantage of bi-xenon ballasts over just getting another HID kit for the high beams?

INSANE light output, i will also upgrade the stock highs to HID . the low beams stay on already with high beams on but now they will be even brighter

exactly....... the whole mod only takes a bi xenon ballast that will fit in the stock location and tapping into the high beam wires inside of the headlight and i may have to upgrade the bulbs, not sure yet , havent got any info if there is special bulbs or not
