Sway bar bushings ordered

Just picked a nice 02 LSE and it has the typical clunk noise in the front end. I have been watching this forum and see that it's pretty typical to replace the old worn sway arm bushings to correct the problem. Looks like the Energy Suspension 1 3/16 dia (9.5171) one is for the sport sway bars. Does anyone have any good pictures of how to install? Thanks

Just had mine done about three months ago. I ordered the same bushings. Matter of fact I ordered two sets by mistake and still have the other set lying around. Posted pics of what they look like and what the worn bushings looked like. I didn't do the work but i'm my mechanic said it was a PIA. So you might want to get some quotes unless you are just up to it.

I have a friend who bought an old gas station service shop. It had been closed for 20+ years so it's just a nice shop only a few blocks from his house. Pretty much is set up for anything you need to do cars. So I just need to get it over there so we can put it up on the lift and work on it. It will take a bit of time to figure out every thing that needs to be removed to get to the bolts. So any pointers will be greatly appreciated. Still need to get some pics of the 02 LSE I just picked up Saturday.

Here is my other ride that will go into winter storage. Wife already said that when the VR4 comes out of winter storage next spring that she is taking the LSE.

Bunk, I just did mine on my 2001 V6. It took a while but can be done. The DCCV is mounted just above the passenger side sway bar mounting bracket and covers the bushing bolts. You first take off the bottom engine cover. The DCCV bracket has two 10-mm bolts that hold it onto the passenger side support frame. One screws from the front going back and the other screws going outboard from center. The area is tight but you can get to them with 1/4" rachet and extensions. Once they are out, you can push the DCCV aside and get at the sway bar bushing bolts (13mm). The best way is to use 2 10" extensions (or more) plus a universal joint and go down from the top onto the bolts. You can get at the rearward bolts from underneath as well. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your info, it will help big time. Seeing that sway bar bushings are a very common problem and repair I'm surprised there is not a complete write up on in the tech section. I guess I should take some pictures as I work on my car. That way when I get some time I can put together a full write up with pictures to help the next people replacing them.

Just got shipping information and the bushing should be here today!
