I am having problems with my suspension,i bought the car wrecked and it drove fine at first ,I replaced the contol arms and the knuckle, now when i hit any little small bump the steering wheel shakes really bad.I just replaced the steering rack, but it didnt help.I also have the advaced track light on and my strut is a little bent.Just wondering if the strut or the advaced track with be cusing these problems.thanks

The AdvanceTrac isn't causing your problems. If the ABS light isn't on too, then it is probably the steering angle sensor or the yaw sensor (that has AdvanceTrac disabled).

I would think that the bent shock would be a big problem and could explain some/most/all of the shake.

Thanks man i was hoping you would chime in,you seem to know your ish... Im gonna replace the struts and ill replace that sensor also..

It's most likely the bent strut, but i would jack the car up, put it on the stands and go over some of the suspension parts/bolts to make sure they are all tight.

I would suggest replacing the bent strut as soon as you can, cause that can cause a lot of damage to the rest of the suspension. It's job is to absorb impact and it can't do that when it's not functioning properly.

also does the advaced track light throw a code because i had the codes pulled and nothing showed up...and what is a yaw sensor?

AdvanceTrac, ABS, body, climate control, parking brake, FEM, REM, cluster, SRS, and advanced engine codes can only be read by Ford specific scanners. Here's one example of such a scanner.

Scroll down to "Total Ford ScanTool Bundle."

The Yaw sensor is mounted in the center floor console. It senses the direction that the car is actually moving and the rate of change. The AdvanceTrac compares the direction you are actually moving to the one that you want to go in (steering angle) and tries to help if they are not the same.

ok thanks guys,so if any of those sensors are bad then that scan tool with show it?

nope just regular largo lol its about 10 min from tampa..

I figured. Too bad there are no other members that I know of in the Keys. My car was stolen and rear ended (badly). It drives fine, and aligns fine (to spec) but always wears tires on the inside. I have not been able to figure this out. Good luck, hopefully the struts are all you need.
