Evening everyone. Just wanted to give everyone an update. I just performed the coolant system overhaul, and new plugs and COPs. VCGs, IM gaskets. Put it all back together and was getting misfire P0301, and P0316.
I did notice while changing IM gaskets that the Intake Manifold was caked with RTV. Like a previous tech was trying to seal an air leak. (I was always suspicious of this, and it would play a factor).
No matter what i did, the misfire would always be there. it was a little disheartening as I just put in $1500 or so with no change.
I posted a plea for help and Joe and s few others chimed in with some suggestions.
I started checking the electrical connectors. Lo and Behold...cylinder number 1 was broken. ALSO cylinder 6 was broken. I started pricing replacements... $58 for 1. F*** that.
Started searching salvage yards and found a T-boned 03. I ripped out the complete intake and fuel injectors as well as the connectors.
Fast forward. I replaced intake salvage one with new Victor Reinz gaskets. Filled and bled coolant system, and fired her up.
My god what a difference she is smooth from idle to WOT.
