Hello,

My name's Dave. I'm from Buffalo, NY where we just got pounded with the white stuff. Anyway,I have a 2001 Lincoln LSV8. I have an issue thats been coming and going for about a week now. I have no blowing air coming from the vents. When I turn on the climate control, any button ie auto, floor, etc, I get a passenger door a jar warning and the climate control doesn't turn on. I can hear the door vents operating but the blower doesn't turn on. This also happens when I turn on the rear defroster. The only thing I can turn on is the heated wipers on the unit. I get no errors through the Climate Control diagnostics. I'm thinking its the blower motor shorted but it's wierd that I get this door a jar message. I searched the forums and coundn't find anything the sounded similar. Any help is appreciated.

It is possible you have a ground problem and you are getting some type of feedback through other circuits. I do not own one of these cars to understand the electrical system or advise you where to look. You can get info from alldata at autozone (online) for your car, that is what most shops use to do repairs. The wiring diagrams will show you where the ground points are and all the connectors. It is also possible you have some corrosion in a connector that gets worse when it is wet... I hope this helps a little

A ground issue is a good generic guess, but I don't think that it's valid in this case.
Interestingly enough, the wires for the blower speed control and for the passenger door open switch run in the same bundle, behind the glove box. I would start by inspecting there carefully.
Unfortunately, I don't have the 2001 color codes so I can't help with specifics.

The link below gives you the option to buy one month of on-line access to all of the factory service information for the 2001 LS for $20. It includes the wiring diagrams and the climate control trouble shooting guide. It has step by step instructions that will find the problem.
