During my morning commute I always listen to my iPod - those us who have an LS with an iPod Unit adaptor which connects to the back of the radio unit know that when you are listening to your iPod, the radio display reads IPOD.

My system suddenly stopped playing the iPod and read "Service Sat".
After turning the car off and restarting it it now reads, "NO IPOD".

My iPod is connected and shows it is charging. Any ideas what has happened. I've bought the iPod adaptor Unit a little over three years ago and never had a problem until now. I installed in myself... pulled the radio and plugged the unit into the "Sat" connector.

Thanks for your help.

Weird..... Ever since I upgraded the antenna in my wife's LS I get the "service satellite" message every now and again. Though I still get reception.

Yep, I've seen that. Some how the adapter has lost sync with the radio communications and needs to be reset. To reset it, you need to kill power to the adapter for a few seconds. The easiest way is to pull the fuse that powers it (probably the radio fuse), and then put the fuse back in after a few seconds.
Interestingly, you don't have to power cycle the radio (and power cycling only the radio won't help). It's just the PIE that needs to be power cycled.

Alternately to this, yours may have failed.

Passenger kick panel, fuse #18. (If that doesn't do it, you may also have to try fuse #2.)

Thank you for your help... I'm currently at work and dont have my owners manual readily at hand.

Again thank you for the insite and not the smarta$$ answer before yours.

Thank you, thank you, thank you guys. It was fuse #18. The fuse was fine, it just needed to be pulled and left to reset. Works fine. It's odd it would just do it out of the blue like that.

Thanks again!

I posted a link to the owners manual, how is that being a smart butt?
