What is the stock exhaust pipe size on a 2000 ls v8? Because I know 2.25 seems to be ideal for this engine with just bolt ons, but I can't find anywhere to bend me an exhaust and I don't want to drop the muchos buckos on the kits, but iirc I thought I saw quick mention the stock pipe size IS 2.25 which would mean I just need new mufflers! Much cheaper. So what's the stock pipe size? Can I just get new mufflers and see gains?

Would the extra 1/4 inch be worth it come tune time? Cuz custom made is in the 400 range I'm sure..

Yes. Stock piping is NOT 2.25" on the gen 1. I believe it is 2.25" on the gen 2.

After the resonators, the pipe seems smaller yet on the gen 1's. I replaced the pipe from the resonators back with 2.25" when I added the magnaflows.

Any exhaust shop should be able to bend pipe for you.

The shop I worked with charged me like 25 or 30 bucks or something for the pipe between the resonators and the mufflers.

Think its 2" on Gen2s also....different but still 2".

The pipes behind the resonators are all turns so the pipe size squishes down in the bends making it smaller yet.

The LS exhaust is really straight foward for a shop to do....should be able to find a place to do what you need.
