My mark started doing the strangest thing the other day....when i start it up the check air ride message was up, the compressor wasn't running......i drive the car for like 3 mins and it goes away and everything works as normal, works fine till i shut the car off, then it will work good next time i start it or not, only does this 25% of the time, is this a sign of my compressor going or just being fineky?
 
It's dying.. from being moisture bound.

If it's in freezing temps the problem only gets worse quicker.

That does not make sense. Once the car faults the air ride is off for good until the car is started again. So once that messages comes up the ONLY way it can activate is via a switch reset in trunk or shutting the car off and starting it up again to clear the fault.

Either way, XLRVIII is right, its probably on its way out. But before you go throwing another compressor in, check the relay contacts and make sure they are clean.
 
Sounds like its time for a new compressor.

If you have the $$'s The spider valve that Eddie has just made available again would help you avoid this from happening again.
 
You might want to check the wire connection to the compressor relay for corrosion.

I have maybe a month or maybe two month old Compressor rebuilt by Eddie, and mine is doing the same thing now that freezing weather is here. We were in the 80's the other day and no more check suspension but as soon as we had another freeze, I get check suspension????
 
Isn't living in the cold climate areas great...

I love my conversion kits... LOL...

When my 95's air ride dies that's it ... To Eddie for another set of conversions..

Yes but why with Eddies compressor? I never had this problem with OEM or with Arnott's until 1 year later when the vent died on his comp. and they sent me another rebuild.

Eddies compressor is just as vunerable as an OEM when it comes to moisture and especially freezing moisture.

Unless you have a spider valve to go with the compressor your no better off than having an OEM compressor.. well Eddie's are built better, using better parts.. but the fact remains these systems are vunerable to moisture.. even more so to freezing moisture.

Have an eddie compressor doesnt mean your system doesnt trap moisture which is what the spider valve gets rid of.
 
The problem may be easy to solve if you are mechanically inclined, Im trying to get a compressor from cracker to show you guys how to fix them.
