Two days ago my problem started. The car will start up then it will just die about 2 seconds after it starts up then its fine the rest of the day. At first I was thinking it was the starter but now I am thinking its the fuel pump. Doesn't the starter turn off once the car is running?

if it cranks over its not the starter. try lightly holding the gas down when it starts and see if it still dies

I am going to try that tomorrow. I used to have an old Buick that had a same problem but that was with a carb. It turned out on that car it was a big vaccum leak. I will do a fuel pressure test

I had a problem similar to dat..my car would start up then die so then i tried starting it up and keep hitting the gas and soon as i took my foot off the gas it would die....

My problem was the ICV valve.... think dats the name of the part

If it is the iac I heard on the gen1 models its very hard to reach.
