So has anyone else while driving forgot that you were in SST mode and redline it in 1st gear? I'll admit, I have a bad habit of doing this. A few times the radio was loud enough that i couldnt hear the engine revving. Look down and i'm pegged at 6500 rpm. Sucks. Everytime i expect the tranny or engine to just blow up. Atleast my dodge which has autostick (same thing) will keep you in the higher gear which just bogs you down instead of redlining.

i came close but never redlined. i drive easy so since i wasn't gettin on it the car was so sluggy noticed it was in sst 2nd at like 3700 rpm

I very rarely use the automatic side any more, but I have ran it up in higher RPM's before. I can usually tell by the way the car is performing though. I guess I'm so used to using SST now, that when this does happen, it's an instinct to shift up.

I have done this in my PowerStroke F-350 before. Put it in second when coming to a stop & later can't figure out why my exhaust temperature is 1300 degrees???
Stereo was cranked up too!
