SST not working

I've done a search on 'sst shifter' and read evey thread from 2004 to present but didn't find what I needed.

When I slide the shifter over to the right and downshift(-), it will not change gears, it just stays in D5.

Any ideas??

Well it took awhile, had a few other problems....gas guage sticking and the damn thermometer blew and put a hole in the top housing ... but
I finally got a chance to look into the microswitch.

BAD news, the plastic piece that holds the + switch is completely shattered and the red plastic piece on the left of the shifter is missing about an inch off the end of it, also the 'ears' on the switch are broke so the metal spring will not stay on.

Does anyone know if these pieces can be orderd seperatly...microswitch, plastic housing that holds the switches and the red bar, or would I have to order the whole assembly?

I also noticed while I had it apart that I still could not get it to down shift from D5 by manually pressing the button on the switch. I did check the fuse first before I started tearing everything apart.

Did you see anything about it changing gears (upshifting on its own) while you were searching? I got that problem right now..

click on Automatic Transmission, then Symptom Chart, I don't know if anything in there will help ya, but it's worth a look.

As for me, it looks like I can only get the whole assembly - Transmission selector lever bezel -
