So it used to happen only after cold starts but now it happens all the time. Whenever the brake pedal is lightly to moderately pressed, a sound like an old wooden floor creaking is heard. The car still brakes like a champ it's just that damn noise. Can I WD-40 it (I'm from the south, we WD-40 everything)? Or should I pull the pedal completely off and regrease something?

I have exactly the same problem.... Mine just started making that noise. Seems random at the time being but it could be just harder to hear those times I drive with the radio on so I dont notice it.

Looking for advise.

yup i have a 03 ls and i have that same problem it is very load sumtimes but most of the time i dont even notce it

My clutch on my first LS did that, I strongly suspected a slight brake fluid leak from the master cylinder to the pushrod that actuates the master cylinder from your pedal. If you were going to lube it, WD40 would not be the best idea, because the end effect of WD40 is that the parts end up drier and noisier than when first sprayed, due to the fact that WD40 is not a lubricant, it is a water displacer. Perhaps some white grease right in the center of the cup that the pushrod pushes on, but now, you're talking partial disassembly and delaying of the inevitable that the master cylinder is going to need replacing. If it could be the pedal pivot bar bushing, then there is hope that a simple spray lube could get in there and do its job without major surgery and expense.

Read that one. I think what I might do is spend a few minutes in my car tomorrow playing with the brake pedal and see exactly where the noise is coming from. I will post again with updates.

WD-40 is great for a lot of things, but definitely do not use it here. White lithium grease might help, but a little bit of it goes a long way, and it can make a nasty mess if you use too much...

I could see myself getting a bit on the pedal and going to brake with my foot slipping off and kicking below the dash, lol.
