Well my front speakers are pretty much spent. I was thinking about replacing them with a set of Kenwood KFC-6882ie (2-60W rms, 6x8, 3-way)http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?showAll=N&g=400&i=113KFC6882&tp=105&tab=features_and_specs I already have an aftermarket headunit.
I was also going to buy a 4-channel amp (I can get a kenwood kac8403 4x60W rms, for about $150 shipped from amazon). I was thinking since the rears are ok I would leave those in until next summer. Can I do this, with the stock amp for the rears and the aftermarket for the fronts?

Also, how much depth do I have to work with for the front and rear?
What else should I know?

You could keep the rears on the factory amp and use the aftermarket to drive the fronts without any problems.

As for clearance, remove the door panel, remove the factory speaker, roll the window down until you see the bottom of the window in the speaker hole, measure your depth from the mounting surface to the window, I'd recommend leaving at least a 1/4 inch of space between the magnet of the speaker and the window. If you're depth is close, you could always build a spacer with some MDF to set the speaker out a little further.
