so i tried one of the bullets on my new sniper tuner on my father's mark box code paa0.

i adjusted the shift points to mild, and set the shift rpms 100 above stock for each gear change at wot. so i go out. punch it, and it shifts at 3000 for each gear.. wtf...
so i go back and try mph mode... i set it for 6mph over stock... try again.... same thing.
damn....

any ideas?

This is on a 1996 Mark VIII right? I had the same issue and Sniper told me they were working on it. This only happens with the 96 Marks, 97-98 are fine. Leave the shift points and rev limit stock for now and just adjust the shift firmness. And call up Sniper tomorrow and ask them to look into it. Let them know it's something specific to the 96 Mark VIII PCM and that another 96 mark viii owner had the exact same issue.

That sucks... can you just set the shift points back to stock and it will drive normal again?

I would just max out the shift pressures...

I Have a 96 too and i tryed to use my sniper tuner on it and it did not seem to work. i tryed changing the idle speed and it did nothing.

k. luckily its my fathers car and he dosen't care too much for the higher rev.. i was more concerned for my car... guess this is why the sniper setup is cheaper... i will tell him. thanks!

Makes me glad I didn't buy a Sniper when I was going to as I would be quite pissed if this stuff didn't work on my 96'

if ya have a t56, you dont need to raise shift points....

Why would you want to raise idle?

You like burning fuel?

Just by a 100 or 200 RPM more to declutch easyer and help the already week altenater charge at idle (i sit in traffic alot). Manual Cars always idle a little higher then autos.

and idle at 1K  ...........mine idles at the 750 mark

*note to self*

**do not buy a 96 Mark VIII**

too much odd stuff.............lol
