figured i'd start a new thread for my slow trunk operation... as far as i know, all i have to do is move it from the red circle spot to the blue circle spot. its pretty hard to even move it. i tried with the trunk open and trunk closed. and help would be greatly appreciated.

You really don't want to mess with those. They are under a LOT of torsion and if you lose your grip while trying to move them they'll straight up knock you out.

yeah, while i was under there (no small feat, i'm pushin 300lbs, i should probably order replacement seat heaters now...) it was nearly imposable to move. but i got some tips from some helpful LVSers.

That nut above and to the left of the blue circle is the adjustment. Raising the pivot point either makes the deck lid fly up when opening or just popping open; which is the correct operation.

so i just need to loosen it? or do i loosen it, move it, then re tighten?

Loosen it, move the bolt up or down, then tighten. It will raise the front of the deck lid (near the rear window) so watch out for proper gap alignment.

Isn't that just the hinge? Why would it make any difference in the force of the opening? Unless it is completely torqued down.
