Hey guys I got a another question. Can I remove all that air ride junk out of my 1996 LSC? I already have the coil conversion with H&R springs (SWEET) with new struts. I am just wondering cause i wana put this thing on a diet. I am adding the BIG brakes and 18 inch wheels over the winter, so I know I am adding some weight so I wana lose some else where. Plus, will removing the air ride components show a code?

Removing air ride parts will not throw a code. But the weights savings wont be too much but I am sure it helps. All you really need to remove is the compressor, removing the lines would be a lot of work unless you want to take out the interior. Not sure, but I am guessing the compressor weigh between 10 and 12 lbs maybe.

Cool weight is weight. You know a lil here a lil there makes a huge difference in the long run. It did on my Fox stang.

Why do people do this?

They buy a Luxury coupe, then they want to put it on a "diet". Insulation is one of the reasons the Mark VIII's weigh so much. If you want a noisy interior, and a lightweight cat, save yourself time and money and go buy yourself a HondUh CRX.

Spare and jack are out and I dont want useless junk bolted to the car adding weight for no reason. I hate all the problems that go along with the air ride. I have had no luck out of Lincolns and their air ride components. (Navigator air ride constantly screwed up) As for luxobarge I got the ticket for added kick in the pants (NOS dry kit purge with bottle heater). I had SSBC brakes on the T-Bird and it was perfect, plus 18's with blower. I am looking to do the same thing with this car.
PS: I have started removing that junk sound barrier from the car and getting to work on the Dynomat. As for the Honda crack I got one of those to for a work car.LOL

when i got my kit form american air ride in the directions the said to clip a wire going in to the ecu. when i did the message screen went from check air ride to air ride ok. ill see if i can find the directions.
