Rim offset

Hi guys I'm new to the forum. Ive got to tell you it's the best online, a lot of good info. I'm in the market for some wheels, Im looking at the Metal FX2 18x8My problem is those rims has an offset of 40. Can I get away with putting those rims on my car. Some of the treads I've read suggest a minimum of 45

:I My 18" wheels also have a 40mm offset and fit perfect. Also, a 245/45-18 tire with get you close to the same diameter as a stock 17" wheel & tire combo.
