A Jan. 6 rioter from Nashville known as “Zip Tie Guy” was sentenced on Friday to nearly five years in prison for his role in the deadly riots at the U.S. Capitol.

Eric Munchel, 32, was found guilty of five felonies and three misdemeanors earlier this year.

Munchel’s mother Lisa Eisenhart, 59, who also breached the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was sentenced on Friday to two-and-a-half years in prison. Eisenhart was found guilty of two felonies and five misdemeanors, including conspiracy to commit obstruction. -snip

Tennessee Man Sentenced to Prison on Eight Felony Charges for Actions During Jan. 6 Capitol Breach

WASHINGTON - A Tennessee man was sentenced today on eight felony and two misdemeanor charges for his actions during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. His actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.

Joseph Lino Padilla, 43, of Cleveland, Tennessee, was sentenced to 78 months in prison by U.S. District Judge John D. Bates in the District of Columbia. On May 3, Judge Bates found Padilla guilty, following a bench trial, on ten counts, among them two assaults on police officers, including one with a deadly or dangerous weapon, and obstruction of an official proceeding and related charges. -snip

California Man Sentenced on Conspiracy and Other Charges Related to Jan. 6 Capitol Breach

A California man was sentenced in the District of Columbia today on two felony charges and one misdemeanor related to his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. His actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.

Edward Badalian, 29, of Panorama City, California, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson to 51 months in prison, 36 months of supervised release, and ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution and fines. Badalian was convicted of conspiracy, obstruction of an official proceeding, and entering and remaining in a restricted building following a bench trial before Judge Jackson on April 4, 2023. -snip

-Ethan Nordean, a U.S. military veteran who led the Seattle chapter of the Proud Boys, was also sentenced to 18 years in prison on Friday.

-Joseph Biggs, a former leader of the Proud Boys, was sentenced to 17 years in prison this week after being found guilty of seditious conspiracy in May.

-Zachary Rehl, who was the president of the Proud Boys' Philadelphia chapter, was sentenced alongside Biggs this week to 15 years in prison.

-Peter Schwartz was sentenced in May to 14 years in prison after being found guilty on 10 charges, including four felony charges of assaulting, resisting or impeding officers while using a dangerous weapon.

-Kelly Meggs was sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of seditious conspiracy and other felonies in a November 2022 trial.



Now just have to put Donald Trump, their leader and the #1 person behind the January 6th insurrection and failed coup behind bars.

A man who joined a nightly performance of the national anthem inside the D.C. jail that has been promoted by former president Donald Trump and his allies was sentenced to seven years in prison for assaulting police and obstructing Congress on Jan. 6.

Shane Jenkins, 46, acknowledged in D.C. federal court that he had an “extensive” criminal history and apologized “for all the pain and suffering I’ve caused.” But, he added: “I love this country. I’m not some crazed maniac.”

Using a tomahawk he brought with him from Texas, Jenkins was the first to smash a window on the West Terrace of the U.S. Capitol, and was caught on video shouting: “We paid for it, it’s our f---ing building.” That breach gave rioters access to senators’ offices, which were trashed and ransacked. -snip

Mississippi, Alabama cousins sentenced for Jan. 6 attack


JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — A federal judge has sentenced two cousins from Mississippi and Alabama for their part in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the U.S. Capitol.

Thomas Smith, 45, of Mathiston, was sentenced to nine years in prison and three years probation. He was convicted on 11 counts, including civil disorder.

Donnie Wren of Athens, Alabama, was sentenced to serve one year and one day in prison.

Prosecutors claimed Smith and Wren stormed the Capitol and used a flagpole to try and break a window on the lower west terrace.

When that didn't work, Smith then joined other protestors to break through a door and confront and assault Capitol Police. -snip

To one one's surprise, the Trump appointed judge gave these Trumper domestic terrorist sentences well below what the persecutors recommended, so now they're seeking to add more years with an appeal. Hopefully the DOJ is successful.

A former Donald Trump political appointee at the State Department who tried to storm the Capitol and assaulted law enforcement officers on Jan. 6, 2021, was sentenced to 70 months in prison on Friday.

Federico Klein was arrested in March 2021 and convicted of eight felonies as well as misdemeanor offenses by U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, also a Trump appointee, in July 2023 following a bench trial. -snip

San Antonio-area man found guilty of attacking police during Capitol riot

A Universal City man who was seen on video ripping the gas mask off an officer during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot was found guilty of six felony charges.

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden convicted Steven Cappuccio, a 53-year-old veteran, of assault, disorderly conduct and civil disorder.

Co-defendant Federico Guillermo Klein, 45, a Virginia man who worked as a politically appointed State Department official in former President Donald Trump’s administration, was also convicted Thursday. -snip

Cappuccio yelled, “Storming the castle, boys!” and chanted, “Fight for Trump!” and “Our house!” as he reached the Lower West Terrace. In the tunnel, he joined other rioters in pushing against the police line, prosecutors said. -snip

“Cappuccio then took Officer Hodges’ riot baton out of his hands and used the baton to strike Officer Hodges in the face,” they wrote. "Throughout this vicious assault, Officer Hodges screamed and pleaded for help." -snip

Jacob Chansley would like to return to the scene of his crime.

Chansley rose to American infamy as the "QAnon shaman," becoming the face of the January 6, 2021 seige on the US Capitol, which sent congressional lawmakers scrambling in fear for the exits.

Now he thinks he might like to work in the building he attacked.

St. Pete 'Proud Boy' sentenced to prison for role in Jan. 6 Capitol attack

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A St. Petersburg resident and member of the white supremacist group "Proud Boys" has been sentenced to prison for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

Zachary Johnson, 34, pleaded guilty in August to one count of assaulting, resisting or impeding law enforcement officers. On Thursday, a federal judge sentenced him to 42 months in prison and 36 months of supervised release. -snip
