Right Rear Child safety door lock will not disengage

Guys,
Having an issue here with my right rear door not unlocking from the inside when pulling the handle. Sounds like to me that the child safety lock isn't disengaging. Even when I have turned the switch. Has anyone else experianced this? If so, can I perform the work myself?

Any help is much appreciated.

Most likely you'll just have to pull the door card and see what's going on. There's a chance the rod simply pulled out of the handle, or the handle broke inside the door.
Pulling the door card is quite easy. Just a couple of screws and lots of push pins. Get a panel puller if you don't have one, as that's the best way to avoid breaking the panel and the pins.
