Reverse speed limiter

Anyone else find the reverse speed limiter?

Hit me pretty hard the other day. I was backing down a long straight strech back to my house. Sure is more dramatic in reverse than it is in forward (above 130mph). It came on about 25mph in reverse....

thats because you are hitting a RPM rev limiter, which is a "harder" limiter than the top speed limiter.

Test it out yourself. Put the LS in park and floor the accelerator. Watch the rev limiter kick in well before the redline.

So you're saying the 03+ neutral rev limiter applies in reverse also? eeeeeenteresting!

Reving in park or nutral in my 04 v6 is verrrry slow. Floor it and it just barely creaps up toward the 3k (ish) rev limiter. I do not recall exactly what rpm and speed I felt the hit (was looking where I was going). It was interesting to find though.

To clarify, my statement is about automatic transmissioned 2000-2002 V8's. Cant speak for any other LS's. Apologies

I took mine off. Flew down the street doing 60 backwards. Stuntman in training. Really who drives forward nowadays anyway

I passed a turn once and threw it in reverse and stomped it, hit like a fuel cut or something, spun the ever living sh!t outta the tires but yea it back fired n all this other BS..


I was camping n went to pick this girl up.. the guy I was with got surrounded by coyotes.. I passed the turn..
