I'm in the process of replacing the door latch on the driver's door. The latch assembly includes the lock actuator mech. The assembly has 2 rods. One connects to the key lock and I'm not sure what the other connects too but that's not my question. The end of one of these rods is bent and is inserted thru a hole in a moving arm. The rod is held in the hole by some type of yellow plastic device. I can't figure how to move this retainer to release the rod. Has anyone worked with this part before? Thanks.

not sure about the LS, but a lot of the rods are held into a hole by a clip that rotates around the hole to hold the rod in, sorry i know that is confusing. will the yellow part "spin" or rotate off of the rod so that you can pull the rod out of the hole

Thanks for the help guys. I wound up just squeezing the prongs on the plastic thing together and releasing the rod. Did the opposite to get it reinstalled. Pain in the butt to replace the door latch but saved a bunch of money I'm sure. Got the replacement latch from falecf4 and it works fine.
