Replacement Bolts??? - Help

Does anyone know where I could find a replacement bolt for my intake manifold?

I was just finishing up replacing my pcv valve and that doggone irritating hose when one of my manifold bolts snapped in two. I don't know what happened since I was doing it to proper torque. Luckily I was able to remove the broken end, but I can't seem to find a similar replacement bolt anywhere.

Can anyone suggest anything to help me out here???
 
My first suggestion would be your local Ford or Lincoln dealer. Maybe a Jaguar dealer if you're made of money. ;)

You could also try a local speed shop or NAPA Auto Parts store. I don't know if a big chain like AutoZone, O'Reilly's, or Pep Boys would have them or not. I know our local Pep Boys has a service center, so they might be a good choice.
 
I would think you could match that up well enough from a fastener or hardware store. You can try Ace Hardware...those guys always seem to have the weird thing I need. You can order it from Ford...but unless they have a broken package in stock, they will require you to buy the entire package of bolts.
 
Thanks guys, I had checked Lowes, Advance Auto Parts with no success. I'll go ahead and check Home Depot and AutoZone today. The dealerships and NAPA won't be open again until Monday. I'll have to go there if I still can't find one. I wanted to have my car finished by Monday for work.

For everybody who has a V6, when I finally got to that pcv hose, it looks rediculous. Like it or not, it's a mandatory fix sooner or later.
 
I'll second the recommendation of Ace Hardware (if you have one). They don't have a lot of the stuff that Lowe's and Home Depot have, but it's absolutely amazing what they do have.
 
Missing Bolts....

I always end up at the Ford dealer to get the right thing! I hate to have missing or mismatched hardware under the hood. I had 3 different plastic retainers,push pins and 4 different steel bolts, all missing when I got my car. The mechanic sealed up the coil cover with silicone and just left out the hard ones I guess?
A lot of the parts counter guys are REAL lazy and will tell you that it's unavailable, so check another source.

To Torque or Not To Torque???

You were right on the money. The Lincoln dealership told me to just go to the hardware store because they didn't have them and if they did I would have to buy a box of 25??? Okay, I went across the street to the Ford dealer, they didn't have them but will have 2 for me tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. sharp.

Okay, I have a bigger problem now, like a dummy I tried to torque the rest of my bolts back in. Another snap - ah man, right in the VC gasket. The dealer said that I shouldn't torque because the bolts are too old. What do you guys think? This is not the first time that I have removed and torgued these bollts either. I had absolutely no problem a year or so ago when I changed my spark plugs.

Please be aware, I did see another similar post this weekend. These bolts are snapping under torque. If the bolts are old, corroded or rusted, be very carefull!!!.
 
I generally replace these bolts and head bolts every time just to prevent this. Kinda $$ sometimes but I have not broken one yet. Exhaust manifold yes, head and intake, no.
 
What I don't understand is why you were torquing the intake manifold while still missing a bolt.

And if you snapped two, I'd seriously consider replacing them all...

No, one bolt snapped while torquing the intake manifold the other snapped on the RH valve cover gasket. I had a long weekend with the car: Driver's door regulator, pcv valve & hose, valve cover gaskets, ignition coils and the clockspring. So, I just had to keep moving. The only real problems were the clockspring, regulator, and pcv hose. But, I figured since I was already down there again, I might as well do the valve cover gaskets and ignition coils. It's about to get really cold and I don't want to have to worry about anything else. By the way, got a great deal on all that stuff from Bill at TeamFord.com. He was really reasonable and gives an earnest LVC discount. I actually got the parts in 2 days with regular shipping.

I agree, I want to replace all the bolts, but they are 6 and 7 dollars a pop and I'm maxing out on my weekend project funds.

Also, just so it's on the forum, here are the part numbers for the bolts:

W701520-S421 - intake manifold bolt (shorter of the two sizes; comes in a 2-pack)

XW4Z-6C519-CA, XW4Z-6C519-CA - valve cover bolts (one is for the hex and the other for the studded ones; also come in 2-packs)
