Repainting Grille -- :s

So on my grille in the chrome area there is a scratch in the chrome taping. Thinking when it gets nice out..:shifty: ...to take it off and repaint it black. Any other suggestions on what color i should paint it??...btw my car is black as well..

im assuming that the Lincoln emblem is built into the grille??

Nope, just remove the grille, bring it inside and use a hair dryer or heat gun if available to warm up the sticky putty like double sided tap and stick a piece of fishing line behind it and work it down between the emblem and the grille.

They are known to come off by prying them straight off but you might damage either the chrome on the grill around the emblem or the grille itself.

IIRC I seen a few posts on here about pricing for having it done and I think it was pretty cheap.


I would at least look into a high quality professional clear coat at a shop if you do decide to paint it yourself.
