Ok this will be my third rear view mirror im going thru. ( inside ) i think its the sub i have lowerd the bass down because it does shake the mirror a lot.

Anyway, Ebay has nothing LKQ has nothing. SO im asking if any of you are parting out your car and have a 3 PIN, no compass, auto dim mirror.

If not i will have to go to the junk yard which just came to my mind i should've done that today. I called a local ford company, they want 141, Max at 5 star ford wants. 110 shipping included.

Anyone?

Where did it fail? Did the button just come unglued off the glass, or did some plastic break? There is a rear view mirror repair kit that works pretty well which you can get at autozone or similar place. I used it on mine and its still holding up and mine shakes a bit from the bass too.

You can have my old one (auto-dim not working) if you need something to get by.
 
Sorry about not being specific, i was in a rush to leave the house.

Actually my mirror is leaking that black liquid from the bottom. I have this rag near the shifter and the wood because that stuff can really do some damage. So i don't think a repair kit will do. might just go by ford and pay the 140, im not waiting a week for max, and junk yard eh. lol. Lazy i guess.
 
my former ls (now my brother's) has a line going from side to side about 4/5s of the way to the top. below the line seems to be as if you had the auto dim turned on and above seems to be normal. pressing the button doesnt seem to do anything.

anybody have this happen?
 
UPGRADE THE MIRROR THEN I have never heard the one with the compass doing this. Go to a junk yard and get a mirror with pigtails.
You can do a stereo install but you can't handle a little mirror?
 
My local Ford dealer is only gonna charge me 95 for a new rearview mirror because of the economy :P

sure you can you have to run a power wire and a ground wire up from somewhere. But sure you can add one. I did it to my dads 95 Silverado.

As for changing a 3 pin to a 5 pin if you have the 5 pin connector take persicion screwdriver and stick it in the back to remove the wire its just a tab you have to press down remove the 3 wires and plug it into the 5 pin. There is a read up on this use the search. I think it took me 20 minutes or less in the car to do this. well worth it cause they work so much better then the ones that came in the 2000.
If he is giving you a deal on one maybe cause they are garbage he knows that.

even the 5 pin only have 3 pins used. you should be fine. Just install the new mirror's sockets into your old 3 pin connector. or just cut the wires and splice in the new connector, pretty sure the colors didnt change.
