Rear View Mirror Fell Off

Mirror on my 93 Mark VIII Fell off the windshield yesterday!
Anybody know how to get the metal button out so I can glue it back to the windshield?

I'm pretty sure there was a small allen bolt that holds it tight, loosen it up and the metal piece should slide out. Scuff, clean, apply metal piece.....wait for adhesive to dry properly(I prefer overnight) and slide on mirror and tighten bolt.

either the allen or it will have a square opening in the bottom, under the metal button, put a small screw driver way in the opening and pry away from the button and slide it out

usually the mirror and the metal peice are seperate parts so look for a hole in the mirror where a small screw would go.

Mine fell off to a month after I got the car. You'll need a slim flat screw driver to 'release' the tang that works as a one way slide for the metal piece that goes on the window. Slide it in where chicken said.
Don't put the mirror back on till the next day so it dries really well...

and kinda hold the metal button in place while you slide the mirror on, ive seen them come back off during reassembly
