About 3 weeks ago I had my front swaybar and links replaced at the dealership because they told me that was the cause of the rattling I was hearing going over bumps. Picked it up and the noise was still there and I didn't notice any difference from when I dropped it off. I finally got a chance to bring it back this morning now they tell me it is the rear swaybar bushings causing the noise. I really don’t think I should have to pay being that the first repair did absolutely nothing. Does anyone know what the cost of this repair might be?

I believe to do the rear swaybar you may need to pull the rear subframe but I'm not certain. If so, that's a lot of labor. Common issue is front swaybar bushings, did they check those? My rattle was caused by front brake pads (LOUD RATTLE). Drive over the same bumps with and without the brakes applied. If it doesn't rattle when the brakes are applied then your issue is the pads.....

just checked service manual and yep, gotta pull the rear subframe. That means exhaust comes off then driveshaft, brake lines, abs connectors, fuel fill line, then the subframe drops. I've swapped my subframe, not particularly difficult - but it is time consuming. I betcha labor is 6 hours or so on this job.

They replaced the front swaybar including the bushings. My thought was possibly the brake pads at first but I had done what you have suggested to rule that out.

Does anyone know what labor is to do the front swaybar and bushings?

This is what it cost at the dealer for me

$141.68 Swaybar
$35.92 x2 links
$297 labor
$90 in labor for alignment

The extended warentee covered $171.78 and the dealer I bought the LS from covered the rest because it was still under 90 days

Just got a call from the dealership $210.00 for rear swaybar bushings. Parts/Labor

wow. Are you sure they aren't talking about the links? From looks of service manual should be a ton of labor for the swaybar
