As I replaced my rear brake pads today, I noticed the extensive wear in the parking brake cable house and the plastic cap that is on the rear sway bar end links top bolt is worn through.

Is the parking brake cable routed the right way? Both sides (L and R) have the same amount of wear and both are worn through. Dealership last replaced the the sway bar link ends some 2 or 3 years ago.

Are these protective caps a dealership only item? (see arrows for the wear on the cable as well as the plastic cap). Cap is turned around so you can see how much wore through.

At least it is not wearing a hole through a hydraulic cable, but still, the wear on this brake cable housing is worrisome.

AFAIK, that's correct. I have the same issue on both of mine.

Same here, when I did my "close to" entire suspension refresh, at the rear MOOG end links, I just left that worn protective cap off, one was worn so bad, it served no purpose putting it back on.

The way I look at it, I hope to find some rubber bolt top protectors eventually. Just rubbing on the Emergency brake cable, not a huge deal, worse case = new cables down the road. Routing is correct and it simply gets that close, looked at rerouting it elsewhere but it's not advisable at all, cable has to sit as it does now.
