i have a 2001 ls and i dont have any 6x9s in the rear deck but i would like to put some. is there any pre wires back there anywhere? or am i gonna have to run my own speakers back there?

mine is a six disc cd changer. i do not know if it is alpine though

yes you have to run your own wires. i am guessing you guys have the sport models. i have the same problem it sucks but you will have to run it from the front deck

In my '02 with Alpine 6-CD and without rear deck subs, there is a wiring harness on the left side near(ish) the trunk hinge. You'll have to pull the trim away a bit to see it. If I am not mistaken, this is what the amps for the factory subwoofers would have plugged into, for both electrical power and audio. I'm sure someone here can point you to where you can find the pin-out.

I added some 6X9's, man it's kind of a pain in the butt to cut out that cardboard back there, even with airtools, I don't know why they made that stuff to hard. I added a small mtx amp for them, it worked out great because I can not set the level of them to make sure it still sounds semi balanced. I almost didn't even need a subwoofer after this install, but hey, I alredy bought the sub and amp.
