everything ive read about rear shocks have said that the white caps on either side supporting the shocks are important and to save them and this and that but mine are broke on both sides ive had to zip-tie them back on and my ?'s are since i have the 1.5 drop kit from american air do i still need them and is there away to still fully mount the shock and would it affect my ride at all without them, i need new shocks badly but im wondering what to do about this first. thanks.

The actual shock mount is the metal with rubber bonded on part.... and then the white thing should be the variable dampening deal... if you get new shocks you can just leave that off...

I'd buy a set of shocks for a 96 Thunderbird and then burn the rubber out from the old mounts and just use the supplied bushings that come with the Thunderbird shocks.

mines a 95 didn't have that dohickey... just leave the rear shocks alone, putting in the 1.5 drop doesn't effect the stock rear shock situation whatsoever.

Unless your mounts are shot, don't mess with em.

i feel and hear every bump and i believe there called bumpstops? anyways those are wasted. what part are you talking about when you say to burn them out?
